Recently, we had the joy of hosting an intimate wedding celebration at The Nest, and we’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at how this couple transformed our space into an elevated, personal wedding venue.
Intimate, Elevated, and Uncomplicated Micro Wedding in Green Bay, WI
With around 30 guests, this couple wanted a wedding that felt elevated but relaxed. A beautiful wedding day without being overly formal. They were drawn to The Nest for one main reason: flexibility. Ok. Maybe two main reasons: cozy elevated vibe.
Instead of being locked into preferred vendors or rigid timelines, they were able to truly make the space their own.
The Nest isn’t your typical Wisconsin wedding hall!! That difference is what made this micro wedding so memorable. Without the constraints of preferred vendors or strict timelines, the couple was able to shape the day around what mattered most to them…Connection.
Instead of rows of banquet tables, The Nest’s cozy coffee shop–inspired seating, modern booths, and thoughtfully designed layout created a space that felt warm, inviting, and refreshingly different.
With a smaller guest list, connection was key. The flow of the venue encouraged guests to move easily throughout the space, settle into conversations, and truly feel at home allowing the celebration to feel intimate, elevated, and deeply personal.
The Setup: Making the Space Their Own
The couple used our existing tables and chairs as the foundation, then elevated the space with thoughtful details:
A custom ceremony backdrop
Table linens and simple floral arrangements
Minimal décor that complemented the space rather than overwhelmed it
Because they had all-day access and were able to bring in their items the night before, the wedding day itself felt calm and unrushed. None of the classic scrambling and stress that comes with a traditional wedding day.
Food, Drinks & Celebration
One of the highlights? A barbecue setup and open bar that kept things fun, approachable, and crowd-pleasing. They also brought in their own cake, alcohol, and drinks! This is something many traditional venues don’t allow. At The Nest, this kind of flexibility is part of what makes celebrations here feel so personal.

The ceremony and celebration flowed seamlessly within the same space. Guests were able to move easily from ceremony to mingling, food, and conversation with no transportation and no timeline pressure and no tight squeeze between banquet tables.
It felt intimate, intentional, and deeply personal. These are the elements this couple was looking for when they decided to do a micro wedding at The Nest.
The Best Part: We Handled the Cleanup
After a full day of celebrating, the last thing any couple wants to worry about is cleaning.
We provided a post-event cleaning service included with their venue rental, so all the couple had to do was gather their personal items and head home to enjoy their first moments as newlyweds.
No teardown stress. No begging friends and family to help clean up after a late night.
At The Nest we also allow flexibility when you have rental items such as tables and chairs. We know it’s hard to coordinate pickup of these items the same night, so we work closely with our couples on schedule and arrange the best time so they can truly enjoy their night!
