Event Recap: Let’s Talk! Boss Babe Stress Management
How many times a day do you feel the weight of stress in your life or business? Stress can take many forms. When we don’t take the time to stop and address the stress, it manifests itself in ways that control of how we feel about our life. Maybe you go to Target when you feel stressed. You might buy the double stuffed oreos. Maybe you open amazon prime. Wine anyone?
We joined Dr. Sadey with Lux Life Chiropractic in an intimate chat about ways we can be a stand for ourselves and keep our stress levels in check.
Take Action and Create Steps Towards Self Care
Think about the last couple of weeks and write down all of the things that have stressed you out in work + life. Now flip over the paper and write down all of the things that you have done to combat that stress and fill up your cup.
There are three types of stress:
Physical
Chemical
Emotional
How Does Stress Affect Your Mind and Body?
Your body can go into fight or flight mode. This is a state of protection that occurs when we face a threat or impending doom. This can work for a short period of time but isn’t ideal for long periods of time. Stress creates a lack of abundance. It gives doubt and feelings of ‘not enough’ put a front and center spot on the stage of your life.
As a boss babe, we have an extra layer of stress + lies that we tell ourselves.
‘You are not enough’
‘Someone else has done this better than me before’
‘I lack the appropriate education’
‘I don’t have enough followers’
‘I don’t have time’
‘I don’t have money for this’
‘I don’t know how to balance work and life’
What Can We Do to Combat Stress?
When we allow stress to over take us, it’s time to move into action and do anything and everything that will fill up your cup and help your body handle stress more appropriately, like Self Care.
More stress equals less we give to ourselves which leads to us feeling disconnected from ourselves. This leads to more doubt and lack. You can create the steps necessary to move away from lack. This requires the best versions of ourselves.
Some examples of self care:
Regular exercise
Healthy Eating
Meditation
Gratitude Journaling
Get adjusted
Connecting with nature
Mindset + Self Talk
Reading
Get enough sleep
Socialize with Friends
Delegate Tasks
Take Breaks
‘Participating in self care is actually less selfish that not participating in it because it’s easier to pour into everyone else’s cup when yours is filled up.’ - Dr. Sadey Broecker
